House Selejan

House Selejan is a recent entry into the top 10 houses of Athkatla after leapfrogging over Houses Dek and Andolyn. The members of House Selejan are well known for their skills as artists. Nearly every member of this house has some ability as a writer, painter or sculptor. So much so that Selejan has become somewhat synonimous for art. For a time it was considered en vogue to have a House Selejan artist commit your likeness to paper or stone and plenty of prominent citizens came up with the gold. During this time, the members of Hosue Selejan were able to immerse themselves in the politics of Athkatla and learn the hidden ways of the city. So much so that when Barnabas decided to further his house He was able to take them from 22 to 10 almost immediately. He also managed to do this without gaining any enemies of note.

House Selejan has been involved in something of a scandal lately however. It is well known that the heirarchy of the House is getting quite old but no heirs have been groomed for sucession. Deiter Selejan, the first son, was killed in a mountaineering accident in the Cloud Peaks and lost. The second son, Romero, was convicted of using magic to turn subjects into living works of art and sentenced to 20 years of service. The 3rd and 4th children, Meg and Egan are known dilentanttes and not seen as fit to lead a great house. Many suspect that when Barnabas Selejan passes so will the heyday of House Selejan. Word is that Barnabas is working to purcahse Romero so he can be assured that he isn't harmed during his time of servitude. Since the leader of a great house cannot be serving a period of servitude, he will also need to ensure his own safety if he wants to see House Selejan thrive.
