House Eldon

The members of House Eldon made their money the old fashioned way; they inherited it. No one in House Eldon is particularly clever, or inventive or possessed of an innate business sense. No, they simply muddle on through making the best that they can. They have an inherited position within the Docker¹s Guild that has been passed down now for fuve generations. This means that an Eldon will always be on the Docker¹s Guild council and draw a healthy living from the Docker¹s Guild despite the fact that an Eldon hasn¹t worked NEAR the docks for 3 generations now. Fitz Eldon has never even seen the docks!

Despite this House Eldon is one of the richest houses in all of Athkatla. Clever investments made 5 generations ago have paid handsomly and, despite the inept nature of the past several Heads, still pay all the expenses of the house and then some.

This set of circumstances makes house Eldon incredibly ripe for one of two things. Either a strong leader will be born into the house and turn their considerable resources towards advancing the estate or a resourceful member of a rival house will realize that with a minimum of deception the Eldon fortune could be combined with their own. So far, Fitz has learned not to trust anyone from any of the great houses. A carefully placed decoy may be in order....
